Director of the U.S Army Band.  Known as soldier’s soldier and was an inspiration to all military musicians.  Set many traditions for the Army Band.  Organized the first  service men’s chorus that was assigned to the band.  A virtuoso violinist who made many band recordings of the great orchestral transcriptions.  Known as a famous guest conductor and adjudicator.  Past President of the American Bandmasters Association.
