Colonel Hal Gibson

Induction: February 7, 2004

Director and Commander of the United States Field Band of Washington, D.C.   Was selected by the President of the United States to conduct the Bicenntennial Band that toured the United States.  Conducted the band at Columbus College in Columbus, GA.  Nationally known adjudicator, guest conductor having conducted band concerts in fify states and 36 foreign countries.  Known as professional French horn performer and a distinguished high school band director and teacher.

Only person to be named Professor Emeritus by Georgia Board of Regents for Columbus College, now Columbus State University

Selected to form, command, and conduct the multi-service Department of Defense Bicenntenial Band

Awarded the Eisenhower Trophy twice.  This Award is presented to the state’s most outstanding unit
